In November 2010, Juliu Horvath authorized Dawnna to conduct the full Gyrotonic Level 2 Training.
DESCRIPTION: Running, skipping, and climbing were once perpetual forms of a child’s physical exploration. Movement was a means to an end as well as a rich integral part of our lives.
Forward thinking Neuroscientists now concur that movement activates the brain, optimizes learning, and helps with management of performance anxiety. Children naturally learn through play and movement: Such activities build large and fine motor skills linked to thought structure. This experience is followed by experimentation and the creation of new associations in memory regarding equilibrium. Learners of any age come to an impasse: This happens from stress, injury, or anxiety all of which interfere with natural inclinations to take alternative action. This workshop draws on Brain gym (R) techniques that have similarities to our Pilates repertoire and how we can use them to build better neurological connections in both adults and children's lives.
DESCRIPTION: When it comes to supporting your body during and after pregnancy it is a multi-layered approach that is needed.
As both fascia & muscles work together & we want this to be optimal, to ensure a healthy pregnancy, positive birth, and better recovery.
In this workshop you will learn how to train your client's body safely and effectively.
This workshop uses techniques, strategies, and various props that you can use simply to help clients build their personal practice and help them get a better understanding of what Pilates has to offer you. Explore an increased awareness throughout your body which will, in turn, help your client understand how each exercise works for their body. This is a wonderful way to make sure their technique is pure and clean so they can get the most out of each exercise and create relationships within their bodies that they can carry over to the advanced work.
This Pilates workshop examines how movement can be cued from this central part of the torso to create more awareness and integration. This is done by exploring the relationship between the xiphoid process, the shoulder girdle, and the pelvis.
Explore all planes from the context of the xiphoid process and how mobility in the ribcage can positively impact both the shoulder girdle, pelvis, and spine. Look at exercises that focus on mobility and stability of the torso and integrating/focusing the breath to encourage awareness and curiosity
